I began scrapping in Oct. of 2002. I quickly became addicted and I never looked back. I love being a part of the DT here at scrapbookersclubhouse. It is so rewarding to come to a place on a daily basis and know I have so many good friends.

I have been married to my dh, David for 14 years now and we have two boys Matthew, 14, and Justin, 11. I love to use them in my layouts, but lately my nieces have been getting a large part of my layout attention. I have been fortunate to have been published a few times in Scrapbooking and Beyond, Memory Makers and Scrapbook and Cards Today. I am also lucky enough to be able to teach at my lss.

I don’t think that I have a particular style, so I just go put stuff on paper and see where it takes me. I do love to work from sketches, and twist and turn them every which way I can. And Challenges, don’t get me started on those. Bring it on!!!

I began this wonderful journey of scrapbooking with a few friends of mine about 7 years ago. We had heard about it and wondered “How do we get started??” Off we went to buy scrapbook magazines..well for a beginner this was so totally overwhelming. Then we decided to seek out a beginners class. We heard about a church that held scrapbooking evenings and attended with the few supplies we had. This may have overwhelmed us more because when we looked around the room we thought..”These women are addicted look at all the stuff and baggage they have, we will never have that much stuff and never be that addicted!” Wrong!! I have an entire room dedicated for my scrappy stuff and sometimes it even over flows and takes over the entire house!

I have met so many awesome people over the years through this wonderful hobby, the camaraderie is simply amazing! No matter where you go to a crop, you have so much in common with the other women. I presently attend a group every Tuesday night with a great gang of talented ladies who I call my Scrap Sisters.

This past year in January I became a member at Scrapbooker’s Club House. And so glad I did. I got to know so many more awesome people who inspire me everyday. I quickly became active in the forum and participated in the awesome challenges and have great conversations with other members. I was so thrilled when I got chosen to be on the Design Team this past summer. After my term was ended I was asked to continue on as the Design Team Coordinator/Admin Assistant by Nicole I tell you I did not even think otherwise and I was thrilled to accept this position. I thank her quite frequently for giving me this awesome opportunity :o).

My favorite techniques are inking, stitching and right now a bit of doodling! I have to say that my style differs as trends and new products are available. I try to keep myself up on what’s in. I do love to load up a LO! It’s all about the embellies baby!

I started scrapping in the fall of 2005 after my niece was born. I was collecting all of these adorable pictures and I needed something to do with them. I started reading scrapbooking magazines and idea books and my supply stash began to grow. Then I met a group of women who meet at a local store monthly to crop, and scrapping moved from a hobby to a (healthy) obsession. My love of doing minibooks hearkens back to my college days when I took classes in book arts.

My favorite technique would have to be inking. I love how it makes items stand out and gives a more “finished” look. Also, I’ve discovered how handy and attractive sanding can be as a technique, especially when covering chipboard.

I love scrapbooking for the art and craft of creating, for the companionship of the friends I’ve met along the way (both online and in person) but most of all for the recording of my family’s stories. I like knowing that, when I’m gone, a part of me will live on through my scrapbooks.

I started scrapbooking after the birth of my first nephew.  I have always loved to do creative things, and scrapping my adorable nephew was a great excuse to try out this new craft.  I scrap to preserve memories for future generations, but mostly I scrap for me.  I scrap to destress and for the joy of creating.  And I love this hobby more and more as I explore new techniques and products.

I currently live in the suburbs of Atlanta with my husband and 2 dogs.  I work as a Market Researcher, but spend almost every weekend scrapbooking with my friends.

Scrapbooking was first introduced to me as a way to preserve your photos back in 1997. My sister had just had a baby and her mil had shown her the wonderful world of bright cardstock and baby rattle stickers. I liked it right off the bat and did pages about my pets and events in the family. I didn’t get super into it (read addicted) untill I had my first baby in 1999. After she was born, and I found some time for myself, scrapbooking became my hobby, my creative outlet and my “me” time.

I love that scrapbooking allows me to record the stories of my family so I will never forget them. The little details of a childs life and personality are so precious that recording them has become my passion. They grow up so fast and I want to remember as much as possible. I also love the artistic side of scrapping. Before the kids were born I was an interior designer and I miss the creative part of that. Scrapbooking allows me to be as creative as I want to be. There are no limitations.

Hello everyone! My name is Elisha! I began scrapbooking after ooohhhing and aaahhhing over my friend Deb’s scrapbooks. I loved how beautiful her pages were, so she invited me to a Creative Memories party. That was about 3 1/2 years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. Being a pre-school teacher, I love working with paper, scissors and glue. I have always been a crafty person and I also love to take pictures so it was only natural for me to be a scrapbooker as well.
My favorite techniques are layering and faux stitching. I also love to make my own flowers from paper. Inking, sanding and distressing is also another favorite of mine. I am absolutely in love with the shabby, vintage look. So, anything that falls into that category suits my style.
My husband of 7 years, Bryan, and my two children, Carley, 5, and Gavin, 2, are my favorite subjects. I also love working on family heritage albums. I am all about leaving a legacy for my children and it’s the little things that I love to scrap the most. Thanks for taking a moment to get to know me a little better and I’ll see you around the clubhouse!

Our SBCH Spotlight – Design Team – Dawn Baty

Dawn

How’dy everyone, my name is Dawn. I started scrapbooking almost 3 years ago when my sister-in-law bought me my first scrapbooking
supplies to get started. I alway ooooo and ahhhhhed over her creations. I didn’t have a clue as to what I was doing. At first I just scrapped
like my sister-in-law cause I loved her style. Over the past three years I’ve evolved into my own style which has changed alot in those
three years. I’m totally addicted to scrapbooking and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I really don’t have a favorite technique that I like above all the rest. I’d have to say the newest technique for me is cutting it out and the 3-D
effect! Two other techniques that I enjoy putting on my LO’s or cards is doodling and stitching. My creations don’t seem finished if they don’t
have one or the other or both on my creations. I’m married and have been for 17 years, to my very wonderful hubby, Mike. My
main subjects to scrap are my two very wonderful kids and of course our three lovely pets. The hardest thing for my to scrap is the subject
of me and anything about me.
Here are some favorite scrapbooking creations I love!
