I thought I would share how to do some basic stamping and then maybe get into a few different techniques in future Technique Tidbit Thursday articles.
1. Do a test stamp by first tapping your stamp into the ink pad. Remember tap do not grind it in.
2. Press stamp onto paper. Press straight down and do not “rock” your stamp. This will result in a blurry image and can cause the edges to print if you have gotten ink them, ruining an otherwise good image.
3. Lift stamp straight up from the paper. You will now be able to see if you need more ink on your stamp and see if the image has transferred from your stamp to the paper properly before beginning your project.
Beware that stamping can be very addictive! :0) But, truth be told, it is a great technique that easily goes hand in hand with scrapbooking if you so choose.
